Christmas Part 2: Laramie to Blackfoot to Boise to Blackfoot

We got to Laramie on the 27th. Unpacked. Repacked. Celebrated Andrew's birthday on the 28th (went to the movies) and then headed to Blackfoot on the 29th. Phew. Deep break. :) 

Kayleen kept me company while I unpacked and put things away in our room.

 Oh my goodness. I was distracted for literally 2 minutes and I looked back at Kayleen and her entire hand was green. Hahaha. #auntfail

 **FINALLY made it to Blackfoot...Danny and Melissa came over for dinner and hung out for a little while.
The kids were just a little excited to wrestle with Uncle Kevin. :)
The following pictures are very unflattering but oh my goodness I do not want to forget this funny moment. I was trying to teach Shawnii and Anna how to give themselves a double chin...then I realized I just had a larger neck than they do...#chubbysista

Friday morning I went and spent some time visiting my cousin's family (I'm close with my cousin's wife.) I always love getting to visit them and was so glad I got to stop by for a bit. We spent the day just hanging out as a family and eating lots of food. :)

Friday night Kevin and I were able to visit with Kallie, Marcus, Graham, Chelsie, Sam and Emma. Oh my goodness I still can't get over my best friends having babies! So crazy! It was wonderful getting to see them and I'm still kicking myself for not getting a picture!! I miss being close to those sweet friends. 
Kevin and I took Jacob to the Junior High and went sledding on the hill for a little bit. Jacob was timid at first but after some convincing (and kind of forceful shoves down the hill) he LOVED it. It was so cute. :)

The kids had a little nerf gun war with Kevin. It was hilarious to watch.

Saturday, Danny and Melissa and the kids came over for breakfast and spent the morning with us.

Friday I had the thought, "Man I wish it would be foggy one of these mornings while I'm here so I can see the trees all frosted." BOOM. Saturday morning we woke up to fog and the trees looked AWESOME. Such a sweet little tender mercy for me. :) I went outside and took a billion pictures with my camera and a few on my phone...

It was so fun getting to be all together as Lyman's. Its always a great time. As we're all growing up and entering new phases its fun to still be able to get together and be silly and have fun together. :)

Kevin and I left around 1 Saturday afternoon to go to Boise and Andrew followed with Jackson and Kayleen shortly after that. It was so fun to finally get to meet little Olivia. She is so precious! It was a super quick trip but it was so fun to get to be there for her special day! She looked absolutely beautiful in her blessing dress. I got to help bathe her and dress her before church. So fun. :) 
The kids had a blast getting to beat up Uncle Kevin with light sabers. :)

It was a pretty mellow New Years Eve. I started feeling sick Saturday night and didn't really sleep well that night so it wasn't the best New Years I've ever had. Haha. It was great getting to see family though. :)

Because I got sick, the rest of our visit in Idaho did not go as I planned in my head. Rude. :)

Fall time in the Burg

Our church building is right below the Rexburg Temple. A few weeks ago when we got out of church I looked up at the temple and saw all the gorgeous fall colors on the trees and bushes surrounding the temple. I told Kevin we HAD to go up and take pictures. We went home, changed and headed back up to the temple. We walked all around and I couldn't stop snapping picture after picture of the fall leaves! I decided that fall is my favorite season in Rexburg. It is just SO pretty. Our nice little Sunday stroll definitely helped remind of how blessed we all are to be on this amazing earth that was created for us!  Kevin pointed out this strange plant and was like, "Don't you want a picture of this?" Fat Biking

Kevin didn't have class yesterday since it was a holiday and no one else on the maintenance crew was going to work so Kevin decided to take the day off as well. I decided to close my office for the day so we could spend some time together. (best decision EVER!) We had a REALLY fun active day. In the morning Kevin played basketball while I walked around the I-center track with my friend Janae. We were there for about an hour and a half so we both got some pretty good exercise. We lounged around for a couple hours after that and then around 2:30 we headed to go fat biking with a couple we've become really good friends with in our ward. I had seen the fat bikes at the ORC before but never thought I would ride one. They look like regular bikes except they have ginormous tires instead of little tires. The bikes are used to ride in the snow, sand, and anywhere else you want to but they make riding in snow a lot easier (and more fun). Here is a picture while we were waiting at...

Time for something new

The past few weeks have been interesting. I've been worrying more and felt overwhelmed about Kevin's schooling, finding jobs, being a burden to family, trying to decide where we really need to be right now, everything just felt like it was closing in on me. Kevin applied to a job at Best Buy and made it through the first and second interviews. We made the decision that if he didn't get the job we would move back to Laramie. Friday, December 16th, as we were driving an Elder down to Des Moines, we found out that Kevin did not get the job. In a moment that could have very well been so sad, discouraging and stressful all I felt was peace. My heart was so sad thinking about leaving Mason City but my shoulders and body felt like a weight had been lifted from them. I knew we needed to go to Laramie. So, we're moving to Laramie after Christmas! I've cried at least twice a day since Friday (I'm just a constant bawl baby these days!) My heart and mind are on a cons...
