Week Overview

Last week was a good week. I had an interview Tuesday at a hotel in town for a night position. I felt confident about the interview but am still waiting to heart back. We'll see. :) I'm applying to more places each week and just praying for the right thing to come along and also praying for patience while I wait. Here are a few pictures for what else happened throughout the week... One day I went to Walmart with mom and found the perfect valentine for me! I do love my selfies! :) After lunch one day...the sun was SO bright. I sure love these people! This was after a basketball game Dad and Kevin went to. I thought they looked so cute in their matching colors! :)   Some late night snuggles...haha...the entire time I was taking the picture Kevin was like, "No, no, no, no." He doesn't like sharing his bed. :) Hahaha.  This past weekend Mom and Dad Fox went through all of their Christmas stuff. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN. First of all, I love anyth...

Finding Peace In Different Places

I read an article today from LDS Living titled, "Why I Left the Church Is Also Why I'm Going Back" by M.C. Sutton. A woman shares her experience of falling away from the church, the struggles she had emotionally, physically, psychologically and the process of returning back to the church. Immediately I felt drawn to this article and I didn't know why but as I read it my heart went out to this woman and her family. One section towards the end in particular stood out to me, "Establishing Peace with My Imperfections I have to let go of what I think I want. I have to let go of my vision of the way things are supposed to be. I have to let go of my expectations and inhibitions. I have to let go of my understandings and interpretations. I have to let go of my imaginary control. I have to let go of how I think things should play out and trust that the person who is in charge knows what He's doing. I never understood until the moment I came to that realization, wh...

What's happenin'

Last week was our second full week in Laramie and it was busier than the week before (which was good). I finally am getting the feeling of "home" here. At first I think my mind was feeling weird because whenever we would come to Laramie in the past it was only for a short trip but we're here to stay, for awhile at least (if you ask Mom Fox we can't leave till next Christmas, haha.) :) I think my mind is finally accepting this is a permanent stay for now. Last week I finally got an interview after applying to ten or so jobs (WOO!). I had an interview at H&R Block Friday morning and didn't end up getting the position. Bummer. BUT its gonna be ok. I was super disappointed Saturday night after finding out I wasn't picked but it was such a blessing just to get an interview and I received so many tender mercies throughout the week that I'm really grateful for the experience. I've got a couple leads for jobs this week so we'll see how things go. :) ...

Mason City

Our time in Mason City will always be a special time to me. I was able to spend every day with my incredible sister and her sweet family, we became part of a ward that welcomed us with the most loving open arms that made us feel so loved and needed, and we grew as a couple as we experienced some hard trials. I wish I could put into words are special the time was for me. My heart feels different after experiencing the last 8 months. We became a part of a ward that was AMAZING. I was able to rub shoulders and work with so many wonderful people while we were there. I loved having a calling in primary for the first few months and loved my calling as young women's secretary as well (even though it was only for a short time.) I was able to go to lessons with the sister missionaries almost on a weekly basis, something I never thought I would be comfortable doing. This ward brought a new meaning of "Ward Family" to me. It truly felt like a family. :) While in Iowa I gained a ...

Sunday Thoughts

I woke up this morning to frosty trees (MY FAVORITE!) Of course I had to go outside and take pictures. :) I just love the beautiful look of frosty trees. It was a little tender mercy for me this morning that helped calm my nerves about going to our new ward in Laramie for the first time. Church was good. I'm still nervous about getting to know people and adjusting to a new ward but everyone was very friendly and welcoming to me. :) I loved all the lessons and enjoyed meeting some new people. There are quite a few young married families (University town) so it feels similar to our ward in Rexburg (now there's just older people too and not just young couples.) I'm hoping Kevin and I can find some friends while we're here. :)  I'm so grateful today was a great Sunday. I received so many tender mercies that helped make this day wonderful. ----- I've had a quote going through my head since watching a clip from the mormon channel app last night, "Hop...

Last Christmas Post I promise: Laramie...end of vacation and the start of reality

We spent the time in Laramie eating food, hanging out, watching movies and just spending time together. I was on the couch or in bed for the first two days we were there and finally by Friday I felt well enough to get up and move around like normal. It was a great week spent with family. :) I can't even handle these two. It just melts my heart instantly seeing them together.  Mom and Dad Fox's tree out front looked SO COOL with the snow and lights! It was SO cold outside but the kids still wanted to go out and of course Uncle Kevin went right outside with them. :) Grandma Fox is the coolest and bought them all light sabers. I don't know who was more excited, the kids or Kevin. Haha. :) Kiera was OBSESSED with Charlie. It was hilarious. Kevin and his little buddy Jackson. :) Sweet sisters playing the piano together.. Kiera was starting to feel sick and Jackson fell asleep on me just sitting there. Poor sick and tired kids! My puffy t...

Christmas Part 3: Headaches, chills and sore throats oh my!

By the time we got back to Blackfoot from Boise on Sunday I felt SO sick. My glands were swollen, my head hurt, my throat hurt, I had the chills. UGH. It was ridiculous. We got to my parents house, I changed into PJ's and I laid on the couch the rest of the time. Kevin and my Dad gave me a blessing and I was able to sleep better than I had the night before.  We had planned to go to Idaho Falls and Rexburg on Monday to visit friends but I was feeling so sick that Kevin just went up by himself. I was so sad. :( I literally laid on the couch all day long. I'm so grateful that I had my family there to take care of me so I didn't have to move.  Even though I couldn't get off the couch the kids still made sure to keep me company... :) I took a shower and after I got out I went to put something away and came back to the bathroom to this little gal sitting in the tub! Crazy girl. :) She obviously claimed the candy bowl... Tuesday we woke up and decided we...

Christmas Part 2: Laramie to Blackfoot to Boise to Blackfoot

We got to Laramie on the 27th. Unpacked. Repacked. Celebrated Andrew's birthday on the 28th (went to the movies) and then headed to Blackfoot on the 29th. Phew. Deep break. :)  Kayleen kept me company while I unpacked and put things away in our room.  Lizzie and the lovely cake she made for Andrew.  -----  Driving to Blackfoot...  Oh my goodness. I was distracted for literally 2 minutes and I looked back at Kayleen and her entire hand was green. Hahaha. #auntfail  Beautiful views as we drove...  **FINALLY made it to Blackfoot...Danny and Melissa came over for dinner and hung out for a little while. The kids were just a little excited to wrestle with Uncle Kevin. :) The following pictures are very unflattering but oh my goodness I do not want to forget this funny moment. I was trying to teach Shawnii and Anna how to give themselves a double chin...then I realized I just had a larger neck than they do...
