Sweet Little Note

Today Arianna found the following note that Jacob wrote for Kevin and I in one of his notebooks: "Dear aunt holly and unklle kevin: I remeder you gues when we were at your houes for christmas on 25th December 2015 last year! and were happy you are here in macon city, Iowa! to: Kevin & holly from: Jacob Andrew Fox" (picture of an eagle and american flag on the bottom...why? I have no idea. haha) :) After reading the note I ran over and gave Jacob a big hug and told him thank you. So cute! About an hour after this sweet moment of reading this note Jacob was telling me thank you for making dinner tonight, "Thank you so much for dinner Aunt Holly. It looks disgusting but I know it will taste wonderful!" I made taco soup. Hahaha.  Days with these fabulous Fox's are never dull.  -Holly-

Week Overview in Pictures

It was a week filled with fun, food and family time... I love snuggles with this sweet girl. She doesn't give them as willingly anymore since she's on the move so much more.  Little turkey girl.  Sweet little girl in her new little outfit from Grandma and wearing her cute little cat hat.  Trip to Walmart! Kayleen kept putting the pillow case over her head and stepping into one and wandering around the living room while Kevin and the boys tickled and attacked her. Crazy girl. :) Love these cute kiddos! This little girl is so funny with the legos. She will crawl around the toy room and play with them forever. 90% of the day she crawls around with a lego in each hand.  Andrew picked up their Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. It made the house smell AMAZING! I haven't lived a home with a real Christmas tree in a long, long time. My parents got one a couple times in Florida when I was really little (I may not even ha...

Thanksgiving in Iowa

It was a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends! I missed all of our family in the west but I'm grateful we had Anna and Andrew family and friends to spend the holiday with.  Wednesday afternoon, Arianna, Kevin, Kayleen, Jackson and I went to Walmart to pick up some last minute groceries. Kayleen was pushing Kevin's cart around the store, it was the cutest thing ever!  Arianna and I spent all day basically in the kitchen cooking up things for the dinner. Arianna made two corn dishes, stuffing, and pie. I made a chocolate sheet cake/brownie thing, potatoes, homemade mac n' cheese and jello salad. It was so fun! I loved cooking beside her and making all the food throughout the day. We had to call Mama Lyman a few times for help on our dishes...thank goodness for Mamas! We had a quick skype session with Mama Lyman and Shawnii in the morning and of course had to take a selfie. ;) I'm glad my family is so patient with my picture taking obsession. Ari...

Week Overview

This was such a good week. Having family visit and starting work this week kept me pretty busy, a good busy though.  I started a small part timeish (totally a word) job this past week. I don't know how long it will last but even the little bit of money I'm earning will be helpful. I worked a few hours Monday, Tuesday and today. Its kind of hard to explain the job but basically I'm an aid/companion to a girl with special needs. I just get to hang out with her and do whatever she wants to or whatever her mom wants me to help her with. This week we walked around stores, got hot chocolate, hung out at Anna and Andrew's house and just drove around one night looking at different parks and places in town. She's a really sweet girl and I have really enjoyed getting to know her.  Kevin is still looking for a job and I'm still in the hunt for a more permanent full time job but nothing has come up yet. We're just praying and taking one day at a time. :) Th...

Family Time

This past week Kevin and Andrew's cousin Kyle, his wife Sherilyn and their sweet kids came to visit in Mason City. Kevin and I hadn't seen them since the summer of 2012! It was SO much fun to have them here for a few days. They got here Tuesday night and left this morning (Friday). Here are some pictures from the fun time we had: Tuesday night Anna, Sherilyn and I met Crystal at Birdsall's for some ice cream/girl time. Its ALWAYS fun to have some girl time and ALWAYS a good idea to get ice cream.  Wednesday morning we took the kids to the Library for story time then we went over to the museum next door for the kids to play for a bit. There's a spot in the museum where there is a little pond with some fish in it. The kids thought it was so cool and kept saying, "Hi Nemo! Hi Nemo!" So cute.  Jacob kept asking Arianna to make a volcano. Being the cool mom she is she put together a fun little volcano experiment for the kids to watch.   Kiera a...
