It is better to be kind

This weekend was our Stake Conference. We didn't make it to the Saturday session but we were able to attend the Sunday session. It was FABULOUS! I love our stake presidency.  All the speakers were really good. The speakers all talked about finding happiness and temples. Its always such a good reminder about how important it is to have the spirit in our homes just like the spirit in the temple.   Our stake president talked about principles that help strengthen a marriage. He read from Moroni 7:45,  "And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things."  He went through each principle in the verse and talked about how it can help strengthen any marriage and home. I've been taught these principles throughout my whole life and remin...

snow in the dark

A few years ago I was leaving my job at the time, it was dark outside and snowing. As I walked to my car I paused for a second and put my face up towards the sky and closed my eyes. The cold snow flakes hit my cheeks, eyes, and lips. It was dead silent and I felt as if I were the only person in the world.  Every worry I had been feeling was instantly gone. It was such a peaceful but eerie feeling. I just stood there and watched the snow fall for a few minutes. It was just me and the falling snow. It was beautiful.  A couple nights ago it was snowing as I went to bed. I laid down and thought about the snow falling outside. I couldn't help but crawl out of bed, go over to the window and peak outside (I felt like a little kid haha).  It looked beautiful. I'm not the biggest fan of snow but those quiet moments watching it fall always makes living in the snow so worth it.  Life gets busy sometimes and its easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of it. I ne...

Mid-Week Happenings/Ramblings

This week has gone by sooo slow. I woke up this morning thinking it was Thursday. Rude. Anyways...Here's some random happenings/ramblings from the past week or so... Kevin is anti anything Christmas before Thanksgiving...I'm the complete opposite. We've compromised. I can listen to Christmas music but cant hang any decorations (my pinecone and snowflake garlands don't count) until the Monday before Thanksgiving. I can live with those stipulations.  We made a goal with our friend G to not eat out at all this week (we may or may not have an addiction to midnight runs to McDonalds). We've survived so far.  Last night we finally watched the movie, "The Fault in Our Stars". Holy hannah. Ugly face cry the whole time people. It was so sad but so worth it, minus the random f-bomb.  I attempted to make homemade french fries for dinner this week...oh deary...Lets just say I wont be using that particular recipe again...or attempting to make fries again a...

Foxy Photoshoot

I've been wanting to get family pictures done for the past year or so. I love all of our wedding pictures hanging up but I've really wanted some updated pictures of Kevin and I.  Last week I asked my good friend D.d. if she would be willing to take some pictures for us. She is super talented and so much fun to be around so I knew she was perfect to ask.  We went to a nature park Saturday morning for the shoot. It was SO cold. I brought my foundation with me so I could keep my nose from looking pink in the pictures. I was really surprised that we both didn't look like rudolph in the pictures!  I love my sexy husband and it was so fun to get to spend the morning getting our pictures taken (even though it is completely outside his comfort zone and he doesn't like it at all!) I'm super grateful he was willing to do it. Now onto the overload of pictures... Kevin and Holly Fox Family 2014... ...

Halloween Zorbing

The night of halloween Kevin and I were playing soccer with some friends. There was a group of people blowing these giant zorb balls up. We were so jealous. Then this guy asked us if we all wanted a turn....we were all like UH YEAH.   It was SO much fun. It was a work out! They were a lot heavier than they looked. We were all laughing so hard. We just ran into everyone as fast as we could. If you got it hard you would just roll and roll. Haha.  It was such a fun way to spend our Halloween night! Until next time... Holly

Pumpkins

Its hard to believe its already November. October flew by soo fast.  Thanks to my amazing mom and dad I was able to attempt to make my front steps look cute and festive with their pumpkins from their garden. A few weeks ago Kevin and I had some friends over to carve pumpkins. Kevin visited most of the time so I was given the responsibility of carving the pumpkins....I did my best haha...  With carving pumpkins came yummy pumpkin seeds! I roasted them in the oven and we had a delicious treat for the following few days. October flew by fast but it was filled with so much fun! I'm thinking November is going to fly by just as fast if not faster and be pack filled with awesome fun as well. Until next time... Holly
