Managing Awesomeness/Summer Bucket List

I am so excited its Thursday. There is only 3 and a 1/2 weeks left of the semester! Holy smokes! Its crazy to think that we have almost been managing for a year (April 16 is the actual day we moved into our apartment and April 19 was the first day of check in's last spring semester). This past week was the year mark that I started training with Kayleen. I had some tenants in my office the other day and was telling them how scared I was for last spring semester because it was my first semester managing and I had no idea what I was doing. But this spring I am stoked out of my mind for it to start! We aren't going to be very full, its going to be warmer outside, and I feel a lot more confident with having a year of managing under my belt. This spring semester is going to ROCK! A couple nights ago Kevin and I sat down and started our "Fox Family Summer Bucket List." Here is some of the list: -Float the river 5,000,000 times (I'm thinking we might even go more than...

Worry

I'm pretty sure one of the things that bugs Kevin the most about me is how much I worry. I've never been good at managing stress (just like everyone other woman in the world). I always overthink everything. Having this managing position has definitely helped me to handle stress better.  When we first got this job I couldn't sleep. I would stay up worrying about every little thing that could go wrong. Finally I realized that I was just making myself sick and worrying wasn't going to do any good. I needed to wake up each day, try my best and try not worry about the things I couldn't control.  I am not perfect and definitely still have my worry moments/days though. Yesterday morning I woke up and thought of a million things I need to get done in the next few weeks. The sick feeling in my stomach started to form. My head started pounding. I instantly felt overwhelmed. I tried to push everything out of my mind but it just wasn't working. I got up and showered....

Shout out..

I'd like to give a shout out to this pretty lady right here.... Because of her Kevin and I were able to watch Catching Fire (had my hands over my eyes almost the whole time), Turbo (am now really wanting a pet snail that can crawl at super speeds), AND Frozen (need I say more?) this weekend and not have to spend ANY money. Thank you Shawnii for sharing all your awesome movie goodness with us peeps up here in sexy rexy. It was greatly appreciated.  Even though we just watched Frozen tonight I will probably watch it again tomorrow afternoon and dance around my apartment pretending I'm Queen Elsa "LET IT GOOOOOO, LET IT GOOOOOO!!!!!" While proceeding to throw my arms around as if snow and ice are flying out of my hands. Yes I am THAT kind of awesome.  Until next time... Holly aka Queen Elsa

Thursday already..

This week has flown by so fast, I can't believe its already Thursday (technically its Wednesday night right this second but its practically Thursday!)  Work has been busier this week and that has been nice. Some days I just sit on the couch for five hours waiting for someone to come to the office or for someone to email me. With Spring semester approaching soon my "to do list" is starting to get bigger each week. It's nice having more things to do during the day instead of just sitting around.  On Tuesday Kevin had a big midterm in his Health Admin Intro class. He was really nervous about it because it seemed like it was going to be quite a bit more intense than the first test in this class. We studied together most of Monday and Tuesday morning before his class. He won't find out how he did till next week but he felt pretty confident about most of the test. I'm so proud of him and how dedicated he has been to school this semester. He has definitely mad...
