Snowy Sunday

I'm grateful for Sundays. Testimony meeting was great. Sunday School was great. Young Women's was great. It was just a wonderful Sunday at church. My heart was definitely uplifted and received the peace and comfort I was searching for today. I love being able to attend church each Sunday.

I have loved being in young women's. The girls in there have such sweet testimonies and I love hearing them share stories about their lives and things that have helped them grow in the gospel. They seem so much more mature and down to earth than I was when I was a teenager!

Its been snowing the past few days but its been very light and very wet so nothing has been sticking...until this morning. I can't believe its December and we're just getting our first snowfall. So crazy! I mean I've loved the clear roads and now tracking in snow every time I step outside but it just blows my mind that there hasn't been any snow up until now. :)

Couple highlights from this past week:

Kevin and I got to watch the kids on Tuesday while Arianna went up to St. Paul to go to the temple with a sister in the ward. Its always fun getting to pick them up from school. I love hearing Jacob yell to his teacher, "That's my Aunt! Aunt Holly!" Kiera was pretty much my little shadow all day. It was so cute when Arianna walked in, Kiera's face instantly lit up and she threw her arms in the air! So cute. The kids all did great and it was a fun day getting to hang out with the kids.
  • Funny moment from watching the kids: I was standing waiting for Jacob to come out of school when Kayleen ran up to me and said, "I HAVE TO GO POTTY!" For some reason children needing to go to the bathroom just makes me panic. Haha. As soon as Jacob came outside I said, "We gotta go! Kayleen has to pee!" I started shuffling the kids towards the car thinking that maybe we could make it home and just have her go there. Then Kayleen stops and starts yelling, "I can't make it home! I gotta go now!" So, I picked her up and started running towards the front of the school, turning back every few seconds to yell at Jackson and Jacob to hurry! Jackson was running as fast as he could basically crying because he thought I was leaving him and Jacob was yelling, "STOP!" because he was tired. Haha. Long story short we made it into the school and Kayleen made it to the bathroom (THANK GOODNESS!). We had to have a little group huddle afterwards so I could explain to Jacob and Jackson that I was not running away from them and I would never leave them alone like that.
Another Kayleen bathroom story...I think Kayleen waits to have to use the bathroom in public with me just so she can see me frazzled. Haha. So, I took Jackson and Kayleen with me to pick up a few things at Walmart. It was CRAZY busy. We hurried through the store, bought our things and headed towards the exit. Suddenly Kayleen says, "I HAVE TO GO POTTY!" We headed back to the bathrooms at the front and I stood there a moment trying to figure out what I was going to do. I had Jackson, a cart full of things and a little 4 year old about to pee her pants. All I kept thinking was, "HOW DO MOMS DO THIS?!?" I panicked for a second then turned and saw an older woman sitting on a bench with her granddaughter just a few feet away. I went up and asked if she would watch my cart for just a minute while I went into the bathroom with the kids. She didn't hesitate saying yes and told me to park the cart right in front of her. Another long story short, Kayleen made it to the bathroom (once again). We went back out and I thanked the lady a million times for watching the cart for me. I walked away thinking about the #lighttheworld campaign the church introduced for this month. This sweet lady has no idea how much of a light she was to me at this moment. I was a panicked Aunt not knowing what to do and she instantly brought peace and help to me. Such a simple act of service but it was such a sweet tender mercy for me.

I've been trying to keep up with the #lighttheworld calendar and so far I've kept up (4 days in, hahaha). Its been a fun thing to look forward to each day. I'm excited to try and follow the calendar the rest of the month!

I have a feeling that this month is going to fly by. December tends to always do that. :) I turn 25 in 15 days (SAY WHAT?!). Christmas is in 20 days. I'm excited for all the fun holiday and #lighttheworld things that will fill the rest of the days in between!

Hello December!

Third Time's the Charm..Maybe...

Last week as I sat down to go through some emails I remembered this old blog and got sucked into reading through past posts. I smiled, cried and laughed as I read through my memories over the last 4 years. :) It was crazy to read through and think about how much has changed over the years and how much Kevin and I have experienced together in the 6 years we've been married. My last post was from March of last year after a visit to Iowa. I could kick myself for not keeping up with this blog because last year was packed full of some of the greatest and hardest experiences of my life. Highlights from over the past 18 months: -We had a graduation party in Idaho for Kevin April 2017 and he officially graduated the following July! It felt so good for him to finally be done. He worked SO HARD and overcame some major obstacles and set backs.  -After Kevin walked in April we did a big trip to Utah and Iowa with Shawnii after watching her graduate with her Masters in Communication Disor...

Mid-Week Happenings/Ramblings

This week has gone by sooo slow. I woke up this morning thinking it was Thursday. Rude. Anyways...Here's some random happenings/ramblings from the past week or so... Kevin is anti anything Christmas before Thanksgiving...I'm the complete opposite. We've compromised. I can listen to Christmas music but cant hang any decorations (my pinecone and snowflake garlands don't count) until the Monday before Thanksgiving. I can live with those stipulations.  We made a goal with our friend G to not eat out at all this week (we may or may not have an addiction to midnight runs to McDonalds). We've survived so far.  Last night we finally watched the movie, "The Fault in Our Stars". Holy hannah. Ugly face cry the whole time people. It was so sad but so worth it, minus the random f-bomb.  I attempted to make homemade french fries for dinner this week...oh deary...Lets just say I wont be using that particular recipe again...or attempting to make fries again a...

Sum of September

My goodness its already October! September was a fabulous, crazy, busy, wonderful month. First up a visit to Idaho... A ll my siblings surprised my parents the second weekend of Sept as an early birthday present for my mom's 60th birthday! We were missing Kevin and Arianna's husband and kids but the rest of us were able to go. My parents were so shocked and my mom cried and cried she was so happy to see us all. It was the best present we've ever given her. :)  It was a laid back weekend just spending time together. We went to a Gentri concert Saturday night,  church Sunday, my mom loves having people to sit with so we made sure to visit on a weekend so we could all sit with her, Danny and Melissa's family left Sunday after dinner, Monday we had a little day of shopping and relaxing at home, and then Tuesday Shawnii, Arianna and I all headed home.  GETTING TO DRIVE LARRY HOME FROM CHURCH!!!  The day after I got back from Idaho I st...
