This long Presidents day weekend we were down in Blackfoot. Kevin had to go down to Ogden early Saturday morning for work but he was back by the late afternoon. So for actual Valentines Day we weren't together very much but it ended up being ok and we survived being apart for part of the day. :) haha. While Kevin was in Ogden I just hung out with my parents and Shawnii. We watched movies, played games and ate way too many cookies. It was a blast. My family is so hilarious and I always have such a fabulous time getting to spend time with them. My mom always makes me laugh so hard with her funny videos she finds on facebook and she always has hilarious stories to tell. My dad stocked up on the cookies to make sure we all had more than enough sugar in our systems to last through the weekend. Shawnii and I played phone games together all weekend and enjoyed watching many chick flicks! :) I can always count on my sisters to spend a weekend doing that!
Sunday we just relaxed together and did the same movies, games and ate a million cookies. Sunday evening we had a birthday dinner for Shawnii. My parents made this delicious chicken and potato dinner. It was SO good! After dinner she opened some presents and then we decided to wait a little while before cake and ice cream. While our food digested Kevin and I went out to visit grandma and grandpa Jensen. Its always nice getting to chat with them. They are so kind and loving to us and have helped us so much since we've been married. I love having them as my grand parents in law :) After that visit we went back to sing happy birthday to Shawnii and eat the delicious cinnamon roll cake (yes CINNAMON ROLL CAKE!) that my dad made. Holy smokes it was SO good and made for a delicious breakfast Monday morning. ;)
We stayed in Blackfoot until Monday afternoon then headed back up to the burg. We took back highways and side roads all the way up and it was really fun to have a change of scenery.
We ended the weekend having dinner with Katherine and Justin Monday night. We hung out with them for a few hours and then headed home. It was a fun weekend filled with lots of family time and lots of good food. Unfortunately I took like 2 pictures the whole weekend! So unlike me. Haha. But it was still a fabulous time with family and I'm excited for a four day work week! Woo hoo!!
And now a random sunset picture from the weekend to end...
Gorgeous Idaho sunrises never disappoint!
Until next time...
Holly :)
